TI BiH: New Law on HJPC at the crossroads between profession and politics

FENA Press release, Photo: Illustration

SARAJEVO, November 5 (FENA) – The professional community is dissatisfied with both the content of the Draft Law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) and the process through which it was created. The process has been described as non-transparent, without public participation or the involvement of the judiciary, and with a concerning level of influence from the executive branch in crafting one of the most important reform laws in Bosnia and Herzegovina's EU integration process, announced the Transparency International Bosnia and Herzegovina (TI BiH).
