ROME, October 17 (FENA) – The General Assembly of the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) has elected the Director of the Federal News Agency (FENA), Elmir Huremović, as the chair of its Artificial Intelligence Committee.
This committee will focus on the opportunities and challenges of applying artificial intelligence in news agencies and media in general.
“I am grateful for the trust placed in me, and I am pleased that EANA has recognized the growing impact of artificial intelligence on the media industry worldwide. It has become perhaps the dominant challenge for the media today and in the near future. This topic is discussed at numerous international forums, and we are witnessing efforts by creators, media outlets, and legislators—from individual countries to the European Union—to regulate this issue, protect authors' rights, and prevent the misuse of artificial intelligence. The committee I chair will strive to guide the use of AI in a positive and beneficial direction as much as possible,” said Huremović.
He noted that FENA recently organized an international conference dedicated to the impact of AI tools on the development and future of the media.
The European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) brings together leading news agencies from European countries and is actively involved in shaping the media landscape in Europe.
Its work includes the preservation of professional standards, the protection of copyright, and the development of news agency journalism on a global level.
FENA is a representative from Bosnia and Herzegovina and has been a full member of EANA since 2017.
