SARAJEVO, August 20 (FENA) - A panel discussion with Swedish and BiH film professionals on sustainability in creative industries was held today at the Academy of Fine Arts as part of this year's Sarajevo Film Festival.

The participants of the panel, which was hosted by the Embassy of Sweden in BiH with the support of the Swedish Institute from Stockholm, were the director of the company "Zanat" Orhan Nikšić, lighting designer and artist Aleksandra Stratimirović, artist and illustrator Alena Gojak, co-founder and director of Orea Market Senita Slipac and an expert for sustainability in film and TV productions Hanna Nybeson.

Based on the Strategy for Businesses in Cultural and Creative Industries, which was recently presented by the Government of Sweden, the main focus of the panel discussion was the debate on the increasing relevance of the concept of sustainability from the perspective of growing demands and how they affect competitiveness and innovation in BiH, Sweden and wider.

Given that she uses a lot of recycled, ecological material in her work, the panelist of the session was the artist and illustrator Alena Gojak. Her goal, as she said, is to bring the world closer to ways of creating art through ecology.

''My art is close to me, but also to every person. Through my art, I connect a human being with himself/herself, with nature, with goods that we often forgot in the past. Therefore, it is very important to point a person to himself/herself so that he/she can live in the future,'' emphasized Gojak in a statement for FENA.

We are here, she added, to make today's people ecologically aware, to give him the possibility and opportunity, to raise the awareness that people can live in harmony with nature.

The panel discussion also discussed the importance of the concept of sustainability in running a business, and the question of how to remain competitive and successful while at the same time making a meaningful contribution to society.

As announced, the panel discussion on sustainability in creative industries is the first in a series of panels that the Embassy of Sweden will organize during the Sustainable Development Week in BiH at the end of October this year.
