Al Darbi: UAE positioned as global media leader

ABU DHABI, November 16 (FENA) - Saud Al Darbi, Head of the News and Publishing Centre at Dubai Media Incorporated and Editor-in-Chief of Al Bayan newspapers, said that the UAE has become a leading regional and global hub in the media content industry and is moving forward to achieve its lofty objectives.

Speaking on the sidelines of his participation in the Global Media Congress (GMC), Al Darbi stated that the UAE holds a prominent position regionally and globally in organizing international media conferences, events, and forums. 

"In Dubai, we have the Arab Media Forum and the Emirati Media Forum; in Sharjah, there is the International Government Communication Forum. Additionally, the Global Media Congress, hosted in Abu Dhabi, stands as a testament to the UAE's pivotal status as a central hub for the media industry," he added.

The GMC's second edition witnesses the participation of approximately 172 countries and 257 brands, including various local, regional, and global media institutions and technological companies from around the world. This underlines the significance of the event and its role in developing the media sector and anticipating its future.

Al Darbi stressed that the media sector is evolving and entering new stages with the advent of modern technology and artificial intelligence. He affirmed that media institutions must adapt to these developments, urging various national media outlets to enhance their content and keep up with the technological advancements to present an effective window through which the world can view the achievements of the UAE, announced UAE news agency WAM. 

He added tjat the media must adapt quickly to changes and developments to keep pace with artificial intelligence and digital media technology.

''This will enhance the growth of the media sector and help us shape clear visions of what needs to be done in the future, leveraging technology to achieve Emirati leadership in modern media,'' he said. 

The three-day event is organized in partnership with the Emirates News Agency (WAM) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court.
