SARAJEVO, July 25 (FENA) - The presidents of the parties that lead the parliamentary majority at the state level reached an agreement last at a meeting in Sarajevo on the adoption of a set of laws essential for Bosnia and Herzegovina's European path but also on processes that should result in the de-escalation of crisis in which the country currently finds itself.

Chair of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, who hosted the meeting, said that a session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH will be held on August 22 at which the harmonized laws on the ombudsman, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council and freedom of access to information will be referred to the procedure.

It was agreed to form working groups that will work on draft laws in the field of justice.

"As soon as all the laws are harmonized, and now they are largely harmonized, they will go to the parliamentary procedure," said Krišto, announcing a new meeting of the presidents of the parties that will be held before the scheduled session of the House of Representatives, at which what was agreed upon on this meeting would be determined.

SDP President Nermin Nikšić said after the meeting that there was no alternative to a conversation.

"We managed to harmonize a set of European laws that should be at the next session of the House of Representatives. If it is adopted, we are making a huge step towards the candidate status of BiH," said Nikšić.

President of HDZ BiH, Dragan Čović, expressed hope that with the adoption of three or four laws at the announced session, numerous working groups will be formed by then, which will prepare the conditions for the adoption of other necessary laws in September or October, including those from the 14 priorities of the European Commission.

"Mutual trust will mean that we have a fully convened Council of Ministers that can work, that we can pass new laws, and that the parliamentary majority, which is recognized through the parties gathered here, that they follow each other in the parliamentary procedure with mutual trust and that there is no more outsmarting," Čović said.

President of SNSD, Milorad Dodik, said that at the same session of the House of Representatives, on August 22, a new finance minister will be appointed, which is a position that belongs to his party. He also announced the confirmation of two agreements from the Berlin process in the appropriate procedures in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"We are coming out of a period of great uproar and we have an agreement," said Dodik.

He added that he is ready to work on the implementation of what was agreed today.

"We agreed to form working groups for all segments of the judiciary that will propose a solution. In that period, the procedure for filling certain structures such as the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina should be initiated. I stand behind everything that was agreed," said Dodik.
