KAMIČANI, July 20 (FENA) - A collective funeral for two victims, Ferid (Hamdija) Sikirić and Izet (Adem) Mešić, who were killed in the area of Prijedor in 1992, was held today at the Kamičani Memorial Center in Kozarac, after which their remains were buried.

The funeral service was led by Raisu-l-ulama of the Islamic community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein-ef. Kavazović.

Several thousand citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the collective funeral for Ferid Sikirić and Izet Mešić, who will find eternal peace after 31 years.

After the funeral prayer, the remains of Ferid Sikirić and Izet Mešić were buried. Their send-off was attended by family members, numerous citizens, representatives of the Islamic community, representatives of the Una Sana Canton authorities, and representatives of FBiH and state levels, among whom was the member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović.

Rais Kavazović said today in Kamičani that the fact that a large number of criminals are still at large and that a large number of cases are still pending in the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina is worrying.

"What is noticeable is that a large number of people who were killed in crimes and genocide have not yet been found. This is something inadmissible after all these years. If we can talk about morality, it was not there in the nineties, it is not there even today and it is worrying. I think that every normal person, who has awareness and conscience about what was happening, should be concerned by the fact that a large number of cases have not been prosecuted, that many criminals are at large and a large number of people who need to be buried are still waiting for that," said Kavazović.

After the funeral prayer, Kavazović called on politicians for unity at a time when enemies are not afraid to say that they would repeat similar crimes. He also called on honest Serbs to tell the truth and reveal where the remains of those killed were.

The Missing Persons Institute of BiH said that the remains of these victims were exhumed during the discovery of the Hrastova Glavica and Jakarina Kosa mass graves.

The remains of Ferid Sikirić were exhumed in 1998 from the Hrastova Glavica mass grave and he will be buried today at the Hambarine Cemetery, while the remains of Izet Mešić were found in 2001 at the Jakarina Kosa site and will be buried today at the Skela Cemetery. He will be lowered into the grave today by his brother Mirzet Mešić, whose four brothers and father were killed.

Even today, many families do not have information about their loved ones. Mufti of Bihać Mehmed ef. Kudić appealed to the families who found the remains of their loved ones not to postpone the funerals.

In the area of Prijedor, 3,172 civilians were killed, of which 256 were women and 102 were children.

Mujo Begić from the Institute for Missing Persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina said that the remains of murdered people from Prijedor have been found in 503 locations so far, including 73 mass graves.

"We found the remains in three states, in ten different municipalities, which speaks of the scale of the crime," he stated.

He added that the people whose remains are still being sought are victims of the most serious war crimes.
