Konaković attends opening of the Consulate of the Republic of Croatia in Orašje

On that occasion, he greeted BiH and Croatian officials, citizens of Orašje and the region, and wished everyone a warm welcome.

Konaković emphasized the true determination for even better cooperation between the two neighboring countries and reiterated his gratitude to the Republic of Croatia for the selfless support they provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina when obtaining candidate status, as well as for everything they are currently doing to help BiH move forward in the process towards the EU.

He stated that diplomatic and consular missions strengthen the economic and cultural ties between the two countries, and the opening of consulates makes it easier to solve the daily needs of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.

"Bosnia and Herzegovina recently opened the Consulate General of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Rijeka and technical solutions are currently being worked on so that the Consulate can be at the service of citizens as soon as possible. Consulates are a stronghold for BiH citizens who live outside its borders. During the tourist season, this need for consular assistance is particularly pronounced," said Konaković.

The Republic of Croatia in Bosnia and Herzegovina currently has, in addition to the Embassy in Sarajevo with the consular department, six more consular representations, including the newly opened one in Orašje, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
