SARAJEVO, June 29 (FENA) - Members of the Bosniak Caucus in the Council of Peoples of the Republika Srpska (RS) announced the launch of the mechanism for the protection of the vital national interest, i.e. the veto, after the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska approved by a majority vote the Bill on the non-application of the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in that entity.
President of the Caucus, Alija Tabaković, announced the meeting of the Bosniak Caucus in the Council of Peoples of the RS for next week.
He told FENA that the mechanism for the protection of vital interest will be launched then, that is, the veto on the Proposal of the mentioned law.
"Under these circumstances, the law cannot enter into force in the next month," Tabaković stated.
One of the procedural steps in similar situations is the statement of the Constitutional Court of the RS, according to whose decision the act can enter into force, i.e. after publication in the Official Gazette but according to Tabaković, then an extraordinary legal remedy is possible, an appeal to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Members of the BiH Presidency or an authorized number of state parliamentarians are responsible for submitting such an appeal.
The draft law announcing that the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will not be respected in the entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina Republika Srpska was approved on Tuesday by the majority of the members of the RS National Assembly at the session in Banja Luka.
