Krišto: We strengthened and affirmed the European path of BiH at the joint session

ZAGREB/SARAJEVO, June 20 (FENA) - Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, assessed the joint session with the Government of the Republic of Croatia, which was held today in Zagreb, as very constructive, and several conclusions were reached, the implementation of which will improve relations between the two countries.

At the press conference after the session, Krišto said that the goal of the joint session is to strengthen friendly and good-neighborly relations, and the agenda of the session expressed the intention and will to resolve all open issues, strengthening partnership and mutual respect and trust.

She said that they discussed various areas related to assisting BiH in the EU accession process, infrastructure projects, border and regional cooperation, cooperation in the field of finance, foreign policy, education, and other topics that are of common interest to BiH and Croatia.

"There will be intensified cooperation in terms of Croatia's support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has knowledge and experience in the process of European integration, and this will certainly facilitate the fulfillment of all the conditions that the European Commission has put before BiH, namely the 14 key priorities," said Krišto.

Also, significant support was given to infrastructure projects and agreements, such as the Agreement on the reconstruction of the Brčko-Gunja bridge, and an initiative to conclude a new cooperation agreement on the project of building new bridges across the Sava River.

The initiative for establishing railway traffic on the route Zagreb-Sarajevo-Čapljina-Ploče was also presented at the session.

Krišto also reported that strong support was given to the construction project of the gas pipeline southern interconnection of BiH and the Republic of Croatia, and an invitation was sent to the competent institutions in BiH to pass the necessary legislative legislation to speed up activities on the realization of this very important project for BiH and Croatia.

In the framework of cooperation in the field of border crossings, the session provided support for the start of negotiations and the conclusion of a new agreement between BiH and Croatia on border crossings, which would include the newly built border crossings, but also recategorize others, which were temporary or of certain categories, such as border crossings Svilaj, Izačić, Kamensko.

They also discussed other open issues such as the construction of radioactive waste disposal at the Čerkezovac location, Trgovska gora, and the succession of the former Yugoslavia, the "Upper Horizont" project.
