SARAJEVO, June 20 (FENA) - During her visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Commander of the National Guard of the US state of Maryland, Major General Janeen Birckhead, visited the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH (FTC BiH) with her colleagues.
Representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and AMCHAM Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the meeting, and the aim of the visit was to get acquainted with the economic potential of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the current foreign trade indicators of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the world.
FTC BiH Vice-Presidents Vjekoslav Vuković and Ahmet Egrlić were hosts of the visit and presented the potential of the BiH economy in the framework of civil-military cooperation.
They pointed out that the main goal of FTC BiH is to promote BiH economy abroad, to achieve economic growth, improvement of infrastructure projects, and freedom of movement of services, capital, people and goods. They also stressed that the CEFTA Agreement, which opened the market for more than 20 million users, and the Berlin Process as an initiative to strengthen cooperation and promote the stability of the region and the integration process of the countries of the Western Balkans into the European Union are of key importance.
It was emphasized that the US Government provided and continues to provide financial and technical support for the development of the BiH economy through its USAID aid program and that the Chamber, as a representative of BiH entrepreneurs, actively used these programs and provided support to thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises, FTC BiH announced.
