SARAJEVO, June 13 (FENA) - A member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to BiH, Johanna Strömquist, on a farewell visit.
Bećirović expressed gratitude for Sweden's support for the reform and integration processes of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the way to membership in the EU and NATO.
Ambassador Stromkvist thanked Bećirović for his cooperation and commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
She emphasized that Sweden will continue to support the reforms, which will enable the improvement of citizens' living standards.
During the meeting, they noted that Sweden's presidency of the Council of the European Union, in the first half of 2023, has been important for Bosnia and Herzegovina due to Sweden's support for the European aspirations of our country, including support for the implementation of necessary reforms with a special focus on fundamental issues related to the rule of law.
Regarding the future cooperation between the two countries, the ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden said that Sweden will continue with the development support of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
They also emphasized the importance of the visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, Tobias Billström, in April, during which the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina discussed the intensification of cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sweden, as well as the European path of our country at a time when Sweden presides over the Council of the EU.
Bećirović stated that the two countries are united by the numerous BiH diaspora, which is well integrated into Swedish society, which was largely contributed to by the signed Agreement on Dual Citizenship between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sweden.
