SARAJEVO, June 13 (FENA) - Based on the joint proposal of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FTC BiH) and the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, the Chamber Investment Forum of the Western Balkans (CIF WB) sent an initiative to the European Commission to eliminate restrictions or at least extend the stay of professional drivers in the Schengen zone.
The initiative states that this is one of the priority issues, because the current limitation of drivers' stay of 90 days in any period within 180 days in the territory of the European Union, allows them to do their job only six months during the year.
The initiative proposes to extend or abolish the 90-day stay limit for professional drivers, which will significantly increase the efficiency of the transport of goods and passengers in Europe and have a positive impact on the development of the economy and tourism.
The CIF WB is a joint initiative of the chambers of commerce of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia, which represents the interests of more than 350,000 companies from the region, and its activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina are carried out by the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
