ZENICA, June 12 (FENA) - The workers' disobedience of the miners the Subsidiary Company of the Zenica Coal Mines Zenica, which started on May 25, is still in effect, and the miners did not go down to the 'Raspotočje' pit this morning, the only one where the production will continue in the coming period.
It was expected that production would be restored at the end of last week and after the decision of the governing company Public Company Elektroprivreda Bosnia and Herzegovina to grant money to the Zenica mine for the payment of all blockades, except for lawsuits and executive judgments against workers who are still employed in that company.
They were required to temporarily, for up to a year, give up blocking the company and that their claims for contributions based on pension insurance be paid later.
"Nothing has changed. The workers have not been paid and it is their decision not to go to work until they receive money for their salaries. Now it's up to the banks to cancel all those payment orders as soon as possible, but we can't forecast when it might be finished, let alone when production might be restored. Some things can't be influenced, and neither can we from the Trade Union," said the president of the Trade Union of the "Raspotočje" pit, Nedžad Duraković.
Namely, last week the management of the company made a decision to, in order to rationalize costs, first for a month, and then maybe permanently, suspend mining operations at the "Stara jama" facility, and all production workers from that facility will be transferred to work in the "Raspotočje" facility, which will thus have enough workforce for monthly production of around 35,000 tons.
