SAPNA, June 11 (FENA) - In just two hours of heavy rainfall in the period from 18:00 to 20:00 hrs., the area of the municipality of Sapna suffered huge material damages on Saturday evening. A strong and intense downpour caused torrential waters that carried everything before them.
Parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina were hit by heavy rainfalls over the weekend, causing flooding and serious damage to households.
The authorities of north-eastern Sapna municipality declared a state of natural disaster, after being hit by the most severe floods since 2014.
Sapna municipal mayor Zudin Mahmutović said that they were trying to clean the road linking the area with the nearby town of Kalesija.
Video footage showed the rush of floodwater carrying cars down the street and flooding the nearby houses.
Floods have also affected the municipality of Kalesija. The situation in that area is under control as of this morning.
