SARAJEVO, June 2 (FENA) - The FBiH Minister of Labor and Social Policy Adnan Delić spoke today with IOM representatives about the reasons for people leaving the country and the possibilities of their return to Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an emphasis on the Federation of BiH.

One of the most pronounced problems that our society has been facing in the last few years, and intensively in the last two to three years, is the departure of people, not only young people, but also those in their best years of working ability who are increasingly taking their entire families with them, it was announced from FBiH Ministry of Labor and Social Policy.

The most common reasons, in existing analyses, cited for leaving are the search for a job, but also the search for a more organized system, respect and valuing of individual achievements and personal integrity.

In this regard, Minister Delić spoke today with the representatives of the IOM in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the organization that deals mostly with this issue, including the causes of mass emigration of people from the country, with an emphasis on the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the possibilities of cooperation and support of the IOM in the preparation of analysis that will show the actual situation and reasons for the outflow of the population from the Federation, but also from the state, considering that one is inseparable from the other.

"We are aware that we cannot solve this problem now and immediately, but we are firmly determined to determine the real reasons and the real situation in the area of migration in the FBiH, but more importantly outside the borders of the FBiH and the state. That is why population measures are one of our priorities and we have already talked to all relevant organizations, domestic and international, that can help us find the causes and eliminate the consequences that force our people to leave their homeland," said Delić.

He added that this is one of the main reasons for today's meeting with representatives of the IOM, "which we see as an extremely valuable and useful partner who already has experience in the field of migration, in and outside our country".

The head of the IOM mission for BiH, Laura Lungarotti, supported the renewed energy and momentum that can be seen in the work with the arrival of the new minister in the department of labor and social policy, and showed strong support and determination for joint activities and projects of the Ministry and IOM.

"We are pleased that you have come to this very demanding ministry and we are ready to work together. We are ready to get involved in your activities wherever we see that we can contribute, and we are also ready to involve you in our projects and activities. We are really looking forward to partnering with you," said Lungarotti.

At today's meeting, preliminary activities were agreed upon in which cooperation between the Ministry and the IOM can be achieved, as well as an upcoming meeting where the technical aspects of further cooperation will be agreed upon, according to the press release.
