ZENICA, May 31 (FENA) - Production workers of the Zenica Coal Mine (RMU Zenica), who did not go down to their pits even in the first shift this morning, gathered again in front of the company's administration building and asked the manager Mensur Hukić for the information about the outcome of yesterday's meeting in Sarajevo.
The miners, after organizing a one-hour warning strike before starting the first shift in the first four days of last week, on May 25, in the second shift, started a "labor disobedience", which they have not stopped yet.
"I no longer have any audacity to tell you to come to your jobs. You, the people, decide for yourself whether you want to come or not," said the president of the RMU Zenica union, Elvedin Avdić.
He said that the manager only told them that yesterday at the meeting of the competent authorities from the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Public Enterprise Elektroprivreda BiH, they said that "we are working on finding a solution".
"They want the miners to go to work, and then to sit down and negotiate with them. People should be paid and then, if it takes 15 days, sit and negotiate. People cannot work without pay and I no longer have the audacity to convince them to come to work," said Avdić.
The meeting ended around 7:50 a.m., and the dissatisfied miners left the mine complex and went home.
