Delegation from Saudi Arabia visits the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH

SARAJEVO, May 26 (FENA) - A delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia visited the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina (DKPT BiH).

The visit was realized after NCB Interpol Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, previously approached the General Secretariat of Interpol, Lyon, France, to organize a study visit to an active member state of this organization, which has successfully integrated the tools, services and solutions of Interpol in order to exchange experiences and good practices.

Considering the extraordinary results and achievements of Bosnia and Herzegovina in this regard, i.e. the fact that our country is among the 20 best for consulting Interpol's databases in the world and that it has applied a whole range of police capacities of this organization in the past years, the idea of NCB Interpol was imposed Sarajevo as a possible host for the delegation of Saudi Arabia, which was ultimately realized, was announced by the DKPT BiH.

The 11-member delegation of Saudi Arabia was led by the head of NCB Riyadh, Colonel Abdulmlk Ibrahim Alsogiah, including the representative of the General Secretariat of Interpol, Badreddin Touihria.

The DKPT director Mirsad Vilić welcomed the guests and presented the competencies and current affairs of the Directorate, stressing the importance of communication, coordination and cooperation at the international level.

He particularly referred to the good relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Saudi Arabia.

During the first day of the visit to the headquarters of the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, the guests were presented with the structure and competencies of the police bodies in BiH, the way NCB Sarajevo works, the use of Interpol services and tools, the coordination of operational activities in the field, the connection of competent bodies in BiH to the organization's system.

Over the course of two days, a visit was organized for the members of the delegation to the headquarters of the BiH Border Police, the Sarajevo Airport Border Crossing and the Bijača Border Crossing.

The visit ended today with a tour of the premises of the Sector for International Police Cooperation and a conversation with NCB Sarajevo officials.

Such an exchange of experiences is likely to bring benefits, not only to Saudi Arabia but certainly to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region as well.
