SARAJEVO, May 19 (FENA) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, met today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland to Bosnia and Herzegovina, based in Ljubljana, Adrian Farrell.
Konaković, emphasizing the good and friendly relations between the two countries, expressed his gratitude for the support that Ireland provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially when it comes to obtaining candidate status for BiH membership in the EU.
He informed the interlocutor about the current political situation in our country, especially referring to the effectiveness of the work of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He pointed out that the Council of Ministers has made significant strides so far and that it will continue with the reform process, above all when it comes to the implementation of 14 key priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission.
With regard to European integration, he assessed that BiH faces numerous challenges, especially when it comes to reforms in the field of economy and protection of domestic production.
Ambassador Farrell emphasized that Ireland will continue to support the integration process of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as the implementation of reforms on the way to the EU.
In this sense, he reiterated that Ireland is ready to help BiH on its European path with its knowledge and experience.
The interlocutors emphasized the importance of improving the political dialogue between the two countries, as well as the exchange of high-level visits.
The meeting also discussed contractual relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Ireland, economic cooperation, visa regime, migrations and the importance of the diaspora, when it comes to investments and promotion of the potential of BiH, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH announced.
