BiH journalist Salih Brkić dies at the age of 75

TUZLA, May 12 (FENA) - Salih Brkić, the doyen of BiH journalism, died in Tuzla at the age of 75. It is difficult to list all the recognitions, successes, tasks that Salih Brkić achieved in his successful journalistic career. He will be remembered for his perseverance to record the life stories of ordinary people with pen, microphone and camera.

Salih Brkić was born in 1948 in Mostar. He completed his primary and secondary education in Stolac. He obtained the title of technology engineer in Tuzla. Along with his work, he also graduated from the School of Journalism in Belgrade. Since 1975, he has been professionally engaged in journalism, first at Radio Banovići, then at Radio Sarajevo, and then at TV Sarajevo. During the aggression against BiH, Salih Brkić was a war reporter for RTV BiH. He worked at Federal Television until his retirement.

Even after retiring, Salih Brkić continued to work as a journalist, almost until the last day of his life.

In his rich journalistic career, among other things, he interviewed kings and presidents of states, and reported from numerous foreign countries and from almost all battlefields in Podrinje and northeastern Bosnia.

He is the author of numerous documentaries about the consequences of genocide and aggression in northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina. He received a large number of national and international awards and recognitions for his work as a journalist.

The time and place of Salih Brkić's funeral will be determined later.
