SARAJEVO, May 12 (FENA) - Senaid Memić was handed over to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office this morning.
The former mayor of the municipality of Ilidža was arrested on Thursday for abuse of position and authority, in connection with illegal construction in the territory of that municipality.
The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office stated that Senaid Memić is accused of illegally issuing several permits during his term of office from 2013 to mid-2017 in connection with the construction of the buildings of investors Panamera, Malak group and the parking lot of the Municipality of Ilidža, which was given to catering facility 'Brajlović' for use.
Senaid Memić was mayor of the Municipality of Ilidža from 2011 to 2020, when he was appointed Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Malaysia.
Memić is a member and one of the founders of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), which nominated him for the position of ambassador in 2020.
