NEW YORK, May 10 (FENA) - Representatives of the United States of America, France and Great Britain unitedly supported the use of the Bonn authorities by High Representative Christian Schmidt in BiH after his presentation of the report before the United Nations Security Council today.

The representative of the USA expressed particular concern about the inter-ethnic tensions and secessionist attempts of President Milorad Dodik after he asked for the monitoring of the inter-ethnic border of the police forces in Republika Srpska, which leads to the creation of divisions.

Great Britain supported the Schmidt report on how the problems in Bosnia and Herzegovina could be solved. They also expressed their support for the further process of EU enlargement to the countries of the Western Balkans. However, the representatives of Great Britain also expressed their concern about the political events in Republika Srpska, especially because of the moves of President Dodik, who openly advocated the independence of the RS and talked about joining Serbia.

France welcomed the formation of the Government after eight years of political crisis. The government was formed after the elections in November 2022, and its composition was presented in February 2023. France also praised the country's efforts in the fight against corruption, which is important for improving the rule of law and fighting discrimination.

The US also welcomed BiH's efforts regarding the rule of law and the fight against corruption. However, they also expressed concern about the events in Republika Srpska. The USA called on all political leaders in BiH to cooperate in order to improve stability, economic development and democratic values in the country.

On the whole, the reactions of the representatives of the USA, France and Great Britain are positive, and the support for the reform process in Bosnia and Herzegovina is encouraging. However, the political situation in Republika Srpska is still worrying, and President Dodik represents one of the main challenges in the country's democratization process.

On the other hand, China and Russia had a different reaction to the report on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. China called for caution when it comes to the role of the special representative in BiH, stating that the principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country should be respected.

Russia had a fierce attitude and criticized Western countries for their attitude towards Bosnia and Herzegovina. The representative of Russia called for the abolition of the Office of the High Representative, which according to them was illegitimate, and accused Western countries of colonial behavior towards Bosnia and Herzegovina.
