SARAJEVO, April 12 (FENA) - BiH Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Staša Košarac received today in Sarajevo the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov, with whom he discussed improving bilateral relations between the two countries and strengthening cooperation.
The interlocutors emphasized that there are no open issues between BiH and Azerbaijan, and that good political relations should be the basis for improving economic ties and increasing overall foreign trade exchange.
The officials pointed out that today's official visit by the delegation of Azerbaijan is the result of the meeting and diplomatic activities of the Chairperson of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during the recent meeting in Baku.
Ministers Košarac and Jabbarov stated that there is an open space for improving economic cooperation, especially in the fields of agriculture, tourism and energy. They also pointed out the importance of connecting entrepreneurs in mutual interest.
In this regard, they agreed to form a joint working group of representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan and competent bodies of BiH, as well as institutions at the level of BiH. The task of the joint working group will be to consider specific models of cooperation in the sectors of agriculture, tourism and energy.
The interlocutors expressed their determination to intensify activities on signing the memorandum on economic cooperation in the tourism sector, which will be a good regulatory framework for strengthening bilateral relations.
