SARAJEVO/BAKU, April 11 (FENA) - The Ministers of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nenad Nešić, and Minister of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, Kamaladdin Heydarov, signed an Agreement on cooperation in the field of protection against natural and other disasters today in Baku.
The agreement defines the procedures for sending and receiving assistance in cases of natural disasters, which speeds up this process and enables a timely and adequate response by teams on the ground.
Minister Nešić emphasized that protection and rescue represent a priority state security interest, the realization of which, in addition to strengthening state security, reduces the number of human victims and material damage and protects the environment.
"The Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina strives, both with its own forces and in cooperation with other organizations and institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to raise the level of security of citizens to a higher level.
Therefore, signing this agreement is very important for us and another step in achieving that goal. We are convinced that the signing of the agreement with Azerbaijan will open new perspectives in the field of protection and rescue in various forms of cooperation, from concrete assistance on the ground in cases of natural or other disasters to training and joint exercises," said Nešić.
