FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, April 11 (FENA) - Inspectors of the Service for Foreigners Affairs of BiH continuously, in cooperation with other competent authorities, continue to undertake all necessary operational measures and actions in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to find persons of security interest who do not comply with legal regulations.

In this regard, in the surroundings of the city of Sarajevo, with a timely and coordinated action by the inspectors, two persons, an Iraqi citizen and a citizen of Turkey were located and apprehended.

According to the information available from the Service, these are persons connected to organized crime and pose a threat to the security system of BiH, where an Iraqi citizen is considered to be one of the organizers of an international chain of people smuggling on the Western Balkan route and who illegally entered BiH.

After carrying out all the activities within the jurisdiction of the Service, those persons were expelled and removed with a ban on returning to BiH for a period of five years.
