SARAJEVO, April 5 (FENA) – The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) believes that the verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in which the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fadil Novalić, was declared guilty, is politically motivated to remove the strongest Bosniak party from power at any cost.
SDA stated that the verdict was issued by overriding the President of the Judicial Council, which is curiosity itself.
They said that it is worrying for the entire society that the verdict, instead of based on the postulates of the legal profession and the basis of evidence, was made under the pressure of politics and foreign ambassadors, which was confirmed by the president of the judicial council in a separate opinion.
The SDA notes that the outcome of the trial has been known for several days after it was announced in the media, even before the verdict was pronounced, that Fadil Novalić would be convicted, while HDZ minister Jelka Milićević would be acquitted.
That the entire process against Novalić is politically motivated is confirmed by the fact that the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has not filed an indictment in any other case of which the public is aware. There are no indictments and trials against the leaders of the RS entity for the procurement of equipment and the field hospital during a pandemic, just as there were none for the villa on Dedinje, nor the Pavlović bank, nor for the anti-constitutional referendum and several other affairs, the SDA points out.
They add that there was no trial for the "Racket" affair and there is no investigation into the suspicious transaction of 200,000 KM that SDP had with a crane rental company from Široki Brijeg, which is part of the "Flajš" affair in Croatia.
“BiH judiciary does not even dare to investigate crime in Aluminij and other affairs in which HDZ staff is involved. And when the trial starts against the leader of that party, as in the case of the "Prelevmani" affair in which the state was damaged for over 40 million KM, the evidence disappears from the court files. Processes and trials are intended mainly for Bosniaks, and especially for SDA, and it is no longer a secret that they are being done for political reasons,” it is stated in the statement.
The SDA believes that, despite all the pressure, Novalić will prove his innocence in the second-instance proceedings, and that in the judicial system he will find enough people of integrity who will make judgments according to the law and their conscience, and not according to anyone's instructions, the party's announcement states.
