SARAJEVO, April 3 (FENA) - President of the Independent Trade Union of FBiH Mine Workers, Sinan Husić, said today after a meeting with representatives of the Government of FBiH and Elektroprivreda BiH in Sarajevo that a warning strike will begin tomorrow in the mines of Elektroprivreda BiH Concern, which will last from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and will be held every day until Zenica Coal Mine issue is resolved.
He pointed out that it is impossible for him that the representative of the Zenica City Administration did not appear at the meeting to which he was invited. He thinks that it is impossible to show such a level of irresponsibility towards the state in which Zenica Coal Mine and its workers find themselves.
“We are in a very difficult situation and at the meeting, we said to the representatives of Elektroprivreda and the Coal Mine that they must show their willingness to act following the conclusions of the City Council and for Coal Mine to sign a binding agreement with the City Administration to start fulfilling its obligations towards the City of Zenica,” said Husić.
He added that they do not accept the fact that one City Administration can "tie the hands" of the entire country and that tomorrow they will call on those responsible in Bosnia and Herzegovina to activate all the resources that can unblock the Zenica Coal Mine account, pay the wages to the workers and start the production process.
The miners of Zenica Coal Mine went on strike on March 24, and from Monday, March 27 to Thursday evening, about 15 members of the Trade Union Committee went on strike and hunger strike in their premises.
Zenica miners gathered this morning in their plants where they waited for the outcome of the aforementioned meeting but they did not resume production.
