SARAJEVO, March 29 (FENA) - Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Borjana Krišto spoke today in Sarajevo at the opening of the "Public-Private Dialogue" conference organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in BiH.
Krišto said that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a small and open economy on the edge of the European Union, whose recovery and growth are largely conditioned by movements in the regional and European as well as the global economic scene.
She added that our primary and strategic task is to respect the interests of numerous internal and external actors, guided by internal consensus and agreement, to create and achieve a vision of a desirable future and to achieve visible progress in the shortest possible time.
She emphasized that it is the responsibility of everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina, from all levels of government, to work tirelessly and make additional efforts in order to speed up the necessary reform processes that will enable a better quality of life for citizens, "because the key to economic success and economic growth depends above all on us ourselves, about our commitment and will to create new values and goods and improve the quality of existing ones".
Krišto said that today Bosnia and Herzegovina is again on the right path when it comes to the direction towards the European Union and the implementation of the necessary reform processes.
She emphasized that the obtained candidacy status and the stabilization of internal political conditions are positive impulses and the best incentives to create a positive environment in the new reality and decisively take the necessary steps that will contribute to further growth.
"Growth that will be based above all on innovation, digitization, decarbonization, a new geopolitical positioning of value chains and the place of BiH companies in them, as well as the growing opportunities for foreign direct investments," said Krišto.
At the end of the address, Krišto informed those present that last week the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted the "Proposal of the economic reform program of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period 2023 - 2025", an important strategic document that will contribute to the achievement of sustainable economic growth and stronger social cohesion, and all in order for Bosnia and Herzegovina to achieve inclusive and sustainable development, stated the Council of Ministers of BiH.
