SARAJEVO, March 15 (FENA) - Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH Zoran Tegeltija expressed satisfaction that the Council of Ministers of BiH today adopted the Draft Budget of the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2023 and accompanying documents that go with this budget.

He stated that the essence of this budget is the increase of the framework by 141 million KM and allocation from the single account of the Indirect Taxation Authority in the amount of 155 million KM for the budget of the institutions of BiH.

“This created the conditions for us to draft a budget that is more favorable than it was last year,” said Tegeltija.

Tegeltija said that this budget, which is now designed for 2023, creates an assumption for the smooth functioning of all institutions at the BiH level, and that they can all function successfully.

He noted that this budget creates an assumption for the increase of wages and benefits for employees in BiH institutions and the improvement of their financial situation.

He reminded that last year when talking about the total incomes of employees in BiH institutions, there was a correction of 24.7 percent, and the total corrections will amount to 38.3 percent with the correction that will take place this year.

He added that for him it is more important when the budget will be adopted than how much the individual figures will be.

“We have adopted the Global Fiscal Framework, and we have foreseen an increase in allocations from the account of the Indirect Taxation Authority, but none of that will happen until the budget is adopted. Deductions from the account will remain the same until the budget is adopted. Similarly, the salaries and personal income of the employees will remain at the level they are now until the budget is adopted,” Minister Tegeltija explained.

Tegeltija added that they expect, the BiH Presidency, which is the formal proposer of the budget, will determine the budget proposal on Monday and send it to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
