SARAJEVO, March 14 (FENA) - The joint campaign of BHRT and the Pomozi.ba Association to collect money for the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria began on March 1 and will end on March 16 with the Telethon show on the BHT1 program, when numerous well-known personalities from the public life of Bosnia and Herzegovina will answer the calls of the viewers from 20:00 to 23:00.
All citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina can support the campaign by paying into Pomozi.ba accounts or by calling the number 17006.
General Director of BHRT, Belmin Karamehmedović, said that they want to show solidarity with all the victims of the catastrophic earthquakes in Turkey and Syria through the organization of the Telethon and the collection of aid.
He explained that the idea was that after the first wave of aid, which was very significant from BiH, from teams that worked on the search for survivors to everything else that Pomozi.ba Association, the Red Cross and various organizations from BiH did, continue to assist the citizens of Turkey and Syria.
Spokeswoman of the Pomozi.ba Association, Maja Arslanagić-Hrbat, expressed her satisfaction that the Public RTV Service supported this action, which is of great importance.
“When we talk about what we have done so far, I would like to mention that 95 trucks of aid from Bosnia and Herzegovina have already gone to Turkey and Syria, that is, all these donations collected by citizens, with our help,” said Arslanagić-Hrbat.
She pointed out that they were not late with this campaign, and that it is very necessary, especially considering that those who are in the affected areas say that the situation is still very bad and that these people will need help for a long period, therefore Pomozi.ba Association will assist the residents of these two countries throughout the year.
