SARAJEVO, March 9 (FENA) - The Society of Journalists of Bosnia and Herzegovina condemns the act of vandalism in damaging the vehicles of two journalists in Banja Luka, Nikola Morača and Aleksandar Trifunović.

"We arerequesting from the competent authorities an urgent investigation and finding of the perpetrators. Also, we demand that the authorities send a clear condemnation of any attempts to attack journalists, their property and their freedom of public speech, without any delay," stated the Society of Journalists of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As they pointed out, "this is not just an attempt at intimidation, but an attack on the property of colleagues, which can easily become an attack on life, which is unacceptable".

"Everything is happening in the light of the protest of journalists due to the police behavior towards Nikola Morača, but also the dissatisfaction of the entire journalistic community in Bosnia and Herzegovina due to the attempt to pass a defamation law in the RS, which is the biggest attack on media freedom ever in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The number of attacks and threats against journalists has increased in the last two weeks, which is certainly an alarm for everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina to urgently focus attention on ensuring the safety of journalists and freedom of expression," warned the Society.
