SARAJEVO, March 6 (FENA) - The Senate of the University of Sarajevo (UNSA) adopted, at the extraordinary session held today, the commission's analysis in the matter of verifying the authenticity of documents related to postgraduate studies at the University of Sarajevo, Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Sebije Izetbegović from February 23.

As it was said after the session, the rector of the University is tasked with issuing a decision canceling the entry in the master's register of the Faculty of Medicine in the name of Sebija Izetbegović, who defended her master's thesis and thus obtained the scientific degree of master's, because she did not fulfill all obligations at the Faculty of Medicine in the manner which is prescribed and according to the regulations that were in force at the time of obtaining the master's degree, that is, she did not meet the prescribed conditions for obtaining the corresponding professional title - master of science.

- The expert service of the UNSA is tasked with announcing the registration in question in the KS Official Gazette as null and void. UNSA, the Faculty of Medicine and other organizational units are tasked with revising and updating register books and records - UNSA Rector Rifat Škrijelj told reporters.

The decision entered into force on the day of its adoption, but proceedings can be initiated before the court in Sarajevo within 30 days.

Škrijelj said that Izetbegović's position as a professor at the Faculty of Medicine can now be questioned. He says that the possibility of the Prosecution establishing possible criminal responsibility is not excluded.

As Škrijelj pointed out, today's decision may also call into question the position of Izetbegović as a full-time professor, and therefore all her previous titles.
