SARAJEVO, February 16 (FENA) - Refik Lendo (Party of Democratic Action), who was appointed to the leadership of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina today in both houses of the Federal Parliament, did not come to the meeting where the president of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was supposed to be elected.
Namely, along with Lenda, Lidija Bradar (Croatian Democratic Union of BiH) and Igor Stojanović (Social Democratic Party of BiH) were appointed the new leadership of FBiH.
According to the rules, the three of them were supposed to agree on who will be the president of the Federation at today's meeting, but Lendo did not appear at that meeting.
Bradara and Stojanović then told reporters that they would schedule a new meeting for tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. and try to agree on who will be the president of FBiH.
Bradara said that she was sorry that today's positive energy did not end with the election of the president, adding that they have a lot of work ahead of them in the future.
Stojanović thanked the MPs and delegates who supported him, stressing that there has never been greater support for the leadership of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- I regret that the process has not been fully completed so that the appointment of the new convocation of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina could be started, because the waiting of the citizens could have ended today - he added.
According to the rules, the president and two vice-presidents of the FBiH are necessarily representatives of each of the three constituent nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and indispensable factors in the nomination of the mandate holder, i.e. the formation of the Federal Government.
The candidates should agree among themselves who will perform the function of president and who will perform the function of vice-president of FBiH. If this is not possible, the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament will make the final decision.
