SARAJEVO, January 23 (FENA) - This year's entity budget, proposed by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the amount of more than 6.7 billion KM, should be considered by MPs and delegates of the FBiH Parliament at the sessions of the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples scheduled for January 25th and 27th.
After the constituent session of the House of Representatives, Speaker Mirjana Marinković-Lepić convened the first regular session of this House, whose proposed agenda includes the budget of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2023.
The Law on Budgets of the Federation of BiH stipulates that if both houses of the FBiH Parliament do not pass the budget before the beginning of the fiscal year, the financing of operations and programs of budget users will continue based on the decision on interim financing, for the first three months at most.
If the budget is not adopted by March 31 at the latest, all funding from the budget will cease.
How the MPs will vote on this year's budget will be seen at the session of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, January 25, while the delegates should declare themselves on Friday, January 27 at the extraordinary session of the House of Peoples, which will be held after the continuation of the constituent session of this House.
In the Budget Proposal, in the amount of 6.7 billion KM, it is stated that it is 20.1 percent higher than last year's, or slightly more than 1.1 billion KM.
One of the key priorities when planning budget funds for the next fiscal year was ensuring stability in the payment of pensions, veterans' and social benefits, and other benefits provided for in the budget of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Individually observed, the biggest increase refers to the payment of pensions on several different legal bases, for 665 million KM.
