SARAJEVO, January 15 (FENA) - After a delay due to lack of snow, the ski season on Mount Bjelašnica is open today to the joy of all fans of sports activities. The six-seater and lift K1, as well as the Kolijevka trail, are in operation.
Aldin Smajkan, head of marketing and sales at KJP ZOI '84, the company that manages the Olympic Center Bjelašnica - Igman, told FENA that they finally have the first snowfall, but also made efforts on the ground, where workers worked on arranging the trails, and snow cannons have been in operation for days.
He pointed out that skiers and boarders on the track were very happy because they finally could enjoy the ski season.
“The weather is satisfactory on Bjelašnica today, so a large number of tourists, skiers and boarders visited the mountain. The new lift K1, which we built before this season, is in operation. A six-seater cable car is also in operation. The price reduction for day and half-day tickets is 50 percent, and the maximum daily parking ticket is 8 KM on Mount Bjelašnica,” said Smajkan.
In the coming period, meteorologists are predicting lower temperatures and more precipitation. Therefore, it can be expected that in the near future the whole of Mount Bjelašnica will be covered with snow and the entire ski slope will be in operation.
