SARAJEVO, January 6 (FENA) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bisera Turković, addressed today the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, who should lead the Serbian delegation to mark the unconstitutional day of Republika Srpska, reminding him of the decisions of the Constitutional Court regarding the celebration of that date.
In a statement Turković published on her official social media account, she said that the officials of the Republic of Serbia, in the spirit of good neighborly relations and building European and good regional relations, are welcome in Bosnia and Herzegovina because relations should be built on mutual appreciation and respect.
"However, in connection with the announced visit, allow me to inform you of the fact that the celebration of the so-called the Day of the RS Day on January 9 was organized against the decision of the highest judicial instance in Bosnia and Herzegovina - the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina," she emphasized.
She reminded that the non-implementation of the decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a criminal offense and the organizers of unconstitutional marking could be the subject of a judicial process, and the arrival of a high delegation of Serbia and complicity in unconstitutional activities directly harms relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia.
Also, she added, celebrating January 9 as the Day of the RS, as determined by the decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, violates the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights.
"No one disputes the right of the entities to mark their holidays that are in accordance with the Constitution or to welcome the officials of the Republic of Serbia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, but January 9, by the Court's decision, cannot be marked as the day of Republika Srpska," concluded Turković.
