BiH Statehood Day marked in Riyadh

SARAJEVO, November 23 (FENA) - The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the King Fejsal Science and Research Center in Riyadh yesterday organized an event to mark BiH Statehood Day and thirty years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states. 

In addition to the reception attended by diplomats, state officials, entrepreneurs, media representatives, friends and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who live and work in Saudi Arabia, a forum was organized "Saudi-Bosnian relations, Historical View and Reflections for the Future".

At the beginning of the forum, the opening address was given by Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Founder and Trustee of the King Faisal Foundation and Chairman of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, who recalled his role during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina when he carried King Fahd's letter to President Bill Clinton in which calls for urgent intervention by the international community to stop the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said that the relations between BiH and Saudi Arabia are based on brotherly ties that nothing can shake.

The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Riyadh, Muhamed Jusić, spoke about the future of relations between the two countries with a focus on investment opportunities and various fields of possible cooperation.

Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, former Minister of Health of Saudi Arabia and current manager of the King Selman Center for Humanitarian Aid and adviser at the Royal Court also addressed the event and spoke about the history of relations between BiH and Saudi Arabia with special reference to the role of King Selman in supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Before the start of the forum and the reception, an exhibition of pictures about King Selman's visits to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the natural and cultural sights of Bosnia and Herzegovina was opened, which the citizens of Riyadh will be able to visit in the coming days.
