SARAJEVO, November 4 (FENA) - Head of the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the EU Special Representative in BiH, Ambassador Johann Sattler, together with his colleagues, met today with the President and members of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina and discussed the implementation of the General Elections in BiH held on October 2 this year.
President of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Suad Arnautović, pointed out that the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina will analyze all cases of irregularities in detail. CEC BiH will initiate misdemeanor proceedings for polling committees and municipal/city election commissions for which personal responsibility is determined. CEC BiH will also impose fines and a ban on engagement for four years in the work of the election enforcement body, while for those cases for which there is suspicion of committing a criminal offense in connection with the election process, a complaint will be submitted to the BiH Prosecutor's Office, announced the CEC of BiH.
The officials expressed their commitment to the implementation of a joint project financed by the European Union. It is a pilot project that will be implemented in the first half of 2023 at 165 polling stations in 10 municipalities/cities when the electronic voter identification system and the system for faster transmission of results from the polling station to the municipal/city election commissions and the Central Election Commission of BiH will be tested.
