SARAJEVO, September 16 (FENA) - As part of the 'Your Job' project, around 500 young people will receive business counseling to start their own sustainable business through self-employment, and with the help of counselors, establish contacts with employers and complete an internship, i.e. their first work practice, it was highlighted today in Sarajevo at the initial or kick-off conference of the EU project dedicated to strengthening the employability of young people in BiH and Montenegro.

The head of the project at Caritas BiH, Miroslav Valenta, said that the project is financed by the EU in the amount of more than 400 thousand euros, and that through various activities, they will try to enable young people in BiH and Montenegro to enter the labor market.

"This project is part of a wider range of efforts by both Caritas and the EU in support of strengthening the employability of young people through strengthening their skills, competencies, enabling the first work experience and for those who have business ideas, enabling them to start their own business and thus become self-employed," Valenta stated.

He added that in the coming period, public invitations will be published to which young people will be able to apply.

"There are two program components, one relates to the internship program where we will try to find interested employers who are ready to provide the first work experience for young people, that is, mentoring experience for those young people. The second component concerns the development of business ideas and businesses and will depend primarily on young people, and we will finance them initially from their registration to possibly acquiring some equipment and the like," Valenta added.

Program manager from the EU Delegation in BiH, Edbera Biković, said that various programs are financed with the aim of improving the opportunities for the economic development of border areas that are often neglected, and among other things, they also include the creation of opportunities for employment of young people.

"The EU allocates significant funds for the area of economic development and employment. This is specifically about the IPA II BiH-Montenegro cross-border cooperation program, which includes the exchange of experiences, the establishment of networks and cooperation between different stakeholders," said Biković.
