SARAJEVO, August 18 (FENA) - The Tourism Board of the Sarajevo Canton (SC) presented today the first smart recycling machine that was installed in the city center, in front of the Hall of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As the President of the SC Tourism Board Kenan Magoda said, smart recycling machines will contribute to development of awareness of all citizens and tourists about ecology. It is a unique project that was presented for the first time in BiH and follows the trends of European and world cities.
The partners of the Tourism Board in the first phase of the realization of this project are the Sarajevo Film Festival and the Association Pomozi.ba. The Board will also cooperate with the SC utility companies 'Rad' and 'Park', Sarajevo City Center and Grand Center Ilidža. The Sarajevo Canton Tourism Board invited other socially responsible companies from the public and private sector that are ready to take a step forward in raising ecological awareness, preserving and protecting the environment to be part of this project.
“The goal of the Tourism Board during SFF, which lasts for two more days, is to collect ten thousand bottles and to be the initiators of this project. After that, we continue to cooperate with our partners in providing additional benefits,” added Magoda.
The SC Tourism Board invited citizens and tourists to actively participate in waste recycling in order to improve the cleanliness of the city, and to contribute to humanitarian actions, but also to benefit from the services of the partners of this project.
Smart recycling machines, as the project manager of the "Smart recycling machines in BiH" Medaris Šunj said, have software that recognizes different types of packaging, namely PET, glass and aluminum packaging.
