SARAJEVO, July 18 (FENA) - The prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes filed an indictment against Andrija Bjelošević, born in 1954 in Derventa.
The accused is indicted that during the war and armed conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in his capacity as head of CSB Doboj, he acted contrary to the provisions of the Geneva Conventions on the Protection of Civilians in Time of War, whose provisions protect women against any attack on their honor and dignity, and especially from rape and sexual abuse.
He is accused of having, on several occasions during 1992 and 1993, come armed to a restaurant in the Derventa area, where there were several detained women doing forced labor, and on at least four occasions, under the threat of force and coercion, he committed rape and sexual abuse of a woman of Bosniak nationality, which caused serious physical and mental injuries to the said victim which caused permanent damage to the victim's health.
The accused is also charged of having committed the criminal offense of war crimes against the civilian population.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which confirmed it, said the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
