NEZUK, July 17 (FENA) - In the organization of the Association of Survivors of the 11 July 1995 Srebrenica Genocide, a memorial dedicated to all the surviving victims of genocide, as well as those who did not survive the path of death in 1995, was unveiled on the plateau from which the Peace March in the village of Nezuk starts.
FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić with the representative of the victims' families, members of veterans' associations Azmir Husić unveiled the memorial.
“We remember Srebrenica every day, not only on July 11. Even today, our thoughts and prayers are with thousands of innocent Bosniak victims, but also with those who managed to reach free territory. Shocking images of the breakthrough of the survivors on July 16 are still before our eyes, as a reminder of heroism of epic proportions. That is why we are in Nezuk today, to pay tribute to the heroes, but also to always remember and warn, so that Srebrenica, Prijedor, Višegrad, Bijeljina, Foča and Zvornik never happen again,” said FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić.
Minister of Internal Affairs Hajrudin Mehanović, Minister of Economy Edin Duraković and Minister of Veterans' Affairs Zoran Blagojević attended the unveiling of the memorial on behalf of the Government of Tuzla Canton.
27 years ago, the first survivors of the genocide from Srebrenica reached the village of Nezuk. From that day to the present, the list of those killed has never been completed, nor have all those killed been identified.
