SARAJEVO, July 14 (FENA) - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Josip Brkić, participated today in the ministerial conference called "Responsibility towards Ukraine", which was held in the convention center of the World Forum in The Hague.

The hosts of the ministerial conference are the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Wopke Hoekstra, Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court Karim A.A. Khan QC and European Commissioner for Justice Didier J.L. Reynders.

The goal of the ministerial conference is to ensure that massive violations of human rights and international humanitarian law and war crimes committed during the war in Ukraine do not go unpunished.

Deputy Minister Brkić participated as a speaker on the topic: "Coherence of action - Principle of complementarity in action".

During his address, he said that Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a country that went through a war that left deep scars, feels full sympathy, deep empathy and solidarity with the people of Ukraine. He emphasized that the international community must be decisive and united on the issue of responsibility, because this is key to sending a clear message to the perpetrators of war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide and crimes of aggression that the parties responsible for violations of international law will be held accountable.

He emphasized the readiness of Bosnia and Herzegovina to offer its experiences in the field of victim identification, considering that BiH, in close cooperation with the International Commission for Missing Persons, has built a unique and highly sophisticated victim identification system based on DNA analyses.

The Ministerial Conference in The Hague was attended by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy (online), the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Sexual Violence in the Conflict Pramila Patten, state secretaries, ministers and deputy ministers of foreign affairs, prosecutors, representatives of the OSCE and the Council of Europe, ambassadors, announced Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
