SARAJEVO, June 14 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović received the credentials of the newly appointed ambassadors of the Republic of Angola and the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria in separate ceremonies.
Džaferović received a letter of credence from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Angola to Bosnia and Herzegovina, based in Budapest, José Filipe.
It was pointed out that this was the first time that Angola has accredited the Ambassador for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it was concluded that the establishment of bilateral relations should begin through the conclusion of basic interstate agreements and other activities.
Ambassador Filipe said that for many international companies, Angola is interesting for doing business in the field of mining, water engineering, oil industry and forestry, and added that the Angolan Embassy in Budapest will organize a business forum in the fall, inviting BiH businesses.
He emphasized the important role of companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the period of former Yugoslavia, which operated in Angola and contributed to its postcolonial development.
The Chairman of the Presidency of BiH pointed out that BiH is interested in cooperation with Angola, as well as African countries in general, especially based on positive experiences in the field of economic cooperation.
At the beginning of the credentials ceremony, the newly appointed Ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Toufik Milat, expressed his sincere satisfaction that he has the opportunity to be the first resident ambassador of his country to BiH.
The BiH Presidency Chairman welcomed the opening of the Algerian Embassy in Sarajevo, emphasizing the need to start implementing ideas and concrete projects of common interest for both friendly countries.
The two underlined good long-term cooperation at a high level between the two countries.
Three Bosnian foreign ministers visited Algeria, including the incumbent Bisera Turković, who met with the country's president and foreign minister on a three-day visit to Algeria last month.
Chairman Džaferović wished the newly appointed ambassadors a successful mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and expressed confidence that overall bilateral relations would improve during their diplomatic mandates, the BiH Presidency said.
