SARAJEVO, May 20 (FENA) - European Council President Charles Michel will pay a two-day official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina today, during which he will meet with representatives of BiH institutions.

Michel is coming to Sarajevo as part of a visit to the region. He met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić yesterday in Belgrade, and he is also expected to visit Albania.

As announced, Michel will meet today with members of the BiH Presidency, with whom he should discuss BiH's progress towards the European Union and meeting 14 key priorities and regional stability in the context of the changed geopolitical situation.

An EU official is arriving in BiH at a time when general elections are scheduled for October in BiH, but funds have not yet been provided to the Central Election Commission (CEC) to hold this year's elections.

BiH has not yet adopted a state budget that should have provided funds for the elections, but it is not known whether Michel will discuss these issues with BiH officials.

Simon Mordue, Michel's chief of staff, recently visited Bosnia and Herzegovina to discuss electoral reform with officials.
