SARAJEVO, May 18 (FENA) - The Peace Support Operations Training Center (PSOTC) received NATO accreditation at a ceremony in Camp Butmir today, which NATO Allied Command Transformation, after evaluation, awards for the achieved level of governance and quality assurance in the process of education and training for peacekeeping missions.
With handing over the certificate - the Memorandum on NATO accreditation, PSOTC has, in fact, been institutionally re-accredited, since it has been in possession of accreditation since May 2016, which confirms the competence of this center in accordance with the highest NATO standards.
The importance of this act for the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH), but also for the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was highlighted by the BiH Defense Minister Sifet Podžić, expressing the expectation that this and similar achievements will be an incentive to achieve positive progress in other areas.
BiH is one of the four countries in the world that are not members of NATO that has a training center with the mentioned type of NATO accreditation.
Brigadier General Pamela McGaha, NATO Force Commander in BiH, said today's recognition of the PSOTC was an indication that the center has managed to reach world-class teaching standards and maintain them for more than a decade.
McGaha added that she is looking forward to seeing PSOTC continue this tradition in the time ahead.
The handover ceremony of the Memorandum on NATO Accreditation to PSOTC was realized in the organization of the Ministry of Defense of BiH and in cooperation with the NATO Headquarters Sarajevo.
