BIHAĆ, May 18 (FENA) - Members of the Operational Task Force for Migrants in the Una-Sana Canton (USC) stressed that finding a location and opening a possible new temporary reception center for migrants in this part of BiH could only take place with the consent cantonal assemblies, local communities, and given the security assessment of the Ministry of the Interior of this canton.

This is one of the conclusions of yesterday's session of the Operational Task Force and also a response to the request of the Minister of Security of BiH Selmo Cikotic to find a suitable location for a possible reception center in the municipality of Velika Kladuša.

"Minister Cikotić sent a request to find a suitable location outside the populated area in Velika Kladuša, where a reception center with an accommodation capacity of up to 300 people would eventually be established.

Our position on this issue is clear. We believe that the opening of any new center in the USC requires the prior consent of the Cantonal Assembly, local communities, as well as the security assessment of the MoI. Let me remind you, we already have a migrant center in the settlement of Lipa with an accommodation capacity of 1,500 people, as well as the Temporary Reception Center Borići in Bihać.

I am sincerely sorry that we are talking again about the new reception center in the USC, and not about the announced and promised even distribution of the burden of the migrant crisis throughout BiH," said the Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton Mustafa Ružnić.

The introduction of "house rules", or more specifically the regulation of the rules of entry and exit from the Lipa Migrant Center, was again requested at the session.

At this session of the Operational Task Force further increased engagement of police officers was announced, as well as inspections, with the aim of controlling the movement and stay of migrants in the Una-Sana Canton.
