SARAJEVO, March 4 (FENA) - After communication and cooperation between the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Canadian partner institutions, a BiH citizen Nikola Koprivica (1954), from Sokolac Municipality, suspected of crimes against humanity, has been located, identified and extradited to the BiH Prosecution.

After landing in Sarajevo, Koprivica will be brought to the acting prosecutor for questioning, after which the Prosecution will decide on further activities in the case.

The suspect, who has been in Canada for several years, is under investigation and is charged with participating in the shooting of more than 40 Bosniak victims from Novoseoci near Sokolac, in the fall of 1992, at the Ivan Polje site, together with other suspects, as a personal and direct perpetrator of war crimes.

An indictment has been filed in this case and court proceedings have recently begun in the Court of BiH.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH thanks the Canadian partner institutions, primarily the Canadian Border Service Agency, for their assistance in locating and extraditing the suspect, as well as efforts to combat impunity for war crimes, stated the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.
