LIVNO/TOMISLAVGRAD, March 28 (FENA) - The fire on the Tušnica mountain between Livno and Tomislavgrad is still active and threatens family houses.
According to the commander of the Tomislavgrad Professional Fire Brigade Mate Jurčević, the fire affected two sides of the mountain and, aided by the wind, was activated in full width.
The fire is coming down on the family homes that are currently being defended.
"On the north side we cannot approach the fire due to snow, while on the south side there are no access roads at all. As this is an inaccessible terrain with a lot of dry vegetation and dry grass, we cannot approach the fire line by fire trucks, so firefighters, foresters and volunteers with backpacks are preventing the fire from spreading to the houses," explained Jurčević.
On Sunday, the fire was also active in the mountainous part of Ljubuša on the other side of Duvanjsko polje, and the fire was localized and brought under control.
In the area of Livno, firefighters put out the fire under the settlements of Sajkovići and Gubin yesterday and last night.
At one point the fire line was ten kilometers long, and in a few places, the fire reached houses and dogs shelter.
