ODŽAK/MODRIČA, March 25 (FENA) - Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Bosnia and Herzegovina Olav Reinertsen visited the Posavina region on Friday, where he toured the facilities of importance to the wider community.

These facilities were renovated and built within the project "Better Governance for Faster Economic Growth" (EGG), which, in cooperation with the Government of the Kingdom of Norway, is being implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in BiH.

Through the implementation of the first phase of the project, Norway, among other things, supported the reconstruction of the Small City Hall in Odžak, as one of the most important cultural and historical monuments in this area, the UNDP said.

"After the reconstruction, the renovated Small City Hall will once again serve as a gathering place, but also a tourist attraction," said Ambassador Reinertsen.

During his visit to the Posavina region, the Ambassador in Modriča also officially handed over the newly built multifunctional amphitheater, the construction of which was also financed by the project.

"The multifunctional amphitheater will be a worthy home for a series of seminars, workshops and various school, cultural, social and other local events. Modrica will now have a center where its community will gather," said Ambassador Reineretsen.

The Ambassador also visited companies in the wood and metal processing industry that are successfully operating in this area.

"Through the EGG project, Norway has helped to form new and faster growth and development of established companies," said Ambassador Reineretsen.

The result is one hundred supported future businesses with 64 new companies that are now established and operational, which, with an investment of about 2.5 million KM, have enabled the creation of 84 new jobs.

In the coming period, through the second phase of the EGG project, the Kingdom of Norway will continue to provide support to entrepreneurship, as well as education, through the introduction of new curricula and the improvement of knowledge in the field of digital technology, it is said in the statement.
