NEUM, March 23 (FENA) - Head of the EU Delegation and EU Special Representative Johann Sattler said at the 2022 Energy Summit in Neum that we have all witnessed over the past month how dangerous it is to depend on too few energy sources.

"The goal is to reduce excessive dependence on fossil fuels and it is high time for the Western Balkans and BiH to jump on the train that is moving towards a green transition," said Sattler.

He pointed out that about 60 percent of electricity in BiH is produced from "dirty" sources, between 30 and 35 percent comes from water resources, and only two percent from wind and solar power plants, although BiH has huge potential in that sector.

He called on domestic institutions to adopt a set of laws on energy transition.
